https://developer.ibm.com/answers/questions/511919/bootstrap-logistic-regression-spss-v-26-doesnt-pro.html
My colleague and I run into some problems using the bootstrap-option in SPSS while performing a multivariate logistic regression analysis.
In our analysis we use 13 independent categorical variables and 1 dichotomous outcome variable. We don’t use a weighing variable and we excluded cases with any missing values.
Our sample size is approx. 19.000
When we run the analysis with the full sample, SPSS (version 26) just keeps running without producing output. When we reduce the our sample by selecting the first 800 cases, it does seem to work.
We’ve already tried to “clean” our data from bugs by exporting the data to excel and back to SPSS but to no avail.
Can you please advise us what might possibly cause our problems and how to fix it?spssspsslicensingbootstrapbootstrappingTue, 16 Jul 2019 13:39:28 GMTOBI-RotterdamHow can I bootstrap a repeat measures ANOVA in spss?

https://developer.ibm.com/answers/questions/460815/possible-to-bootstrap-a-repeated-measures-model-in.html
Dear SPSS experts,
Is it possible to bootstrap a repeated measures model in SPSS?
I am getting an error message when running the following:
BOOTSTRAP
/SAMPLING METHOD=SIMPLE
/VARIABLES TARGET=dv INPUT= group repeat
/CRITERIA CILEVEL=95 CITYPE=BCA NSAMPLES=100
/MISSING USERMISSING=EXCLUDE.
MIXED dv BY group repeat
/FIXED = group repeat group*repeat | SSTYPE(3)
/REPEATED = repeat | SUBJECT(sub) COVTYPE(CS)
/PRINT SOLUTION.
The error that I get (100 times) is: "Because of the use of case weights, the levels of the repeated effect in split file $bootstrap_split = 1 are not different for each observation within a repeated subject. No analyses will be performed for this split file."
I get this error even in if run the model without the group factor.
I have also made sure that my data conforms to the data structure as in this [post][1], so that all subjects are uniquely identified, thus:
GROUP SUBJ TIME
1 1 1
1 1 2
1 2 1
1 2 2
1 3 1
1 3 2
2 4 1
2 4 2
2 5 1
2 5 2
2 6 1
2 6 2
Also following that post, I've tried specifying the group in the REPEATED statement:
/REPEATED = repeat | SUBJECT(sub*group) COVTYPE(CS)
I appreciate any help.

https://developer.ibm.com/answers/questions/441660/importing-txt-data-into-spss-when-data-are-white-s.html
Hello, I am attempting to import a text file with 6,000,000 characters (5,000 cases and 228 variables) into SPSS. Unfortunately the data file was generated with white space (space between variables ranging from a single space to many spaces) as its delimiter method. SPSS reads the first space as the delimiter, and then reads all subsequent spaces as missing data, which throws off my import. Is there a way to either A) fix a text file delimited by white space to a single space delimiter method? OR B) tell SPSS to read with white space delimiters? OR C) tell SPSS that there are no missing variables in the import file, so that it is tricked into ignoring the whitespace?
I would appreciate any help! Thank you.spsssyntaximportdatabootstraptextdelimitersemTue, 10 Apr 2018 17:13:27 GMTRonnocNHow to Solve Technical Review Error?

Hi, I think there might be some context missing here but this error occurs when PHP code is written incorrectly.
I normally run into this one myself when I've used the "empty" function incorrectly. It only accepts variables and so you can't make other function calls and pass the result in as an argument to it, you need to assign it to a variable first.

https://developer.ibm.com/answers/questions/430039/rm-anova-non-normality-bootstrap-possible-how.html
Hi there,
I want to perform a repeated measures anova with 2 conditions (within-design) measures at 2 time points, but my dependent variables and it's residuals are not normally distributed. They are negatively skewed and have significance values on Kolmogorov-Smirnov and Shapiro-Wilk normality tests all p <0.007.
I transformed the variables in several ways (e.g. (square root transformation, log10, exponential, reciprocal) but this doesn't improve normality. Sample size is 67.
- So I came up with bootstrapping, but now I see this is not possible in SPSS. Or is there some syntax I could use? Until now I didn't succeed..
- I also thought about non-parametric tests such as the Kruskal-Wallis test or Friedman's ANOVA, but the problem here is that it's not possible to use covariates, apparently.
- Or should I just stick to the parametric repeated measures ANOVA and report the nonnormality? But the K-S and S-W normality tests show it is not even close to a normal distribution, so how reliable would these repeated measures anova be?
All help will be very much appreciated!spssbootstrapThu, 08 Feb 2018 19:55:19 GMTHanstatSPSS Version 25 Boostrap function does noto produce output?

https://developer.ibm.com/answers/questions/420016/bootstrapping-in-syntax.html
Dear all,
I would like to look to use bootstrap to look at the difference between the ratio outcome of two groups (Ratio group 1 = 0.36 VS Ratio group 2 = 0.29).
See attached my syntax for calculating the ratio for each group and the outcome of this syntax in my SPSS data file. [link text][1]
Because the outcome of the syntax is just one value for each group (the ratio is an outcome of the mean of one variable divided by the mean of another) there is no distribution of the ratio in each group and so a statistic analysis to determine the statistical difference between these groups is not possible.
That’s why I thought about using bootstrapping. In this case I would request 1000 bootstrap samples and then perform my analyses (syntax) for each sample. My outcome would then consist of 1000 ratio’s (from the syntax analysis of 1000 samples) for each group and then I would be able to compare these median’s between the groups.
Am I right about this assumption? And is it possible to perform this kind of bootstrapping? Does anyone know how to perform this or how to write these steps in my syntax?
Thanks in advance!!
With kind regards,
JM
