https://developer.ibm.com/answers/questions/472715/two-way-manova-test-of-simple-effects-post-hoc.html
Hi all,
I hope this is appropriate to ask, I've been watching youtube videos and googling for almost a week and finally thought I'd try throwing this out there on this website!
I've been doing a two way MANOVA on patient data where a patient randomly received 1 of 3 knee implants (1st independent variable: implant), and I also wanted to compare between pre and post-operative conditions (2nd independent variable prepost). I'd call this a 3x2 MANOVA but I'm probably wrong. The dependent variables are up to 12 different parameters (peak hip/knee/ankle flexion angle during walking for instance).
As opposed to many ANOVAs (between preoperative implant type only and postoperative implant type only) and, say, TTests to compare between pre/post per implant type it was suggested I use a MANOVA to "do the analysis at once" if you will.
In my googling I came across the test of simple effects, which seems to nicely do all the comparisons for me as so:

(please bare in mind there are another 8 variables not included in the screen shot.) My question really is what exactly is the statistical test used to give the p values under the Sig column? I appreciate it's some sort of posthoc test, though here as there are 2 levels for each implant (pre and postop) I don't believe a conventional post hoc is even necessary? Am I correct in thinking if there are no significant findings for the interaction effect of prepost*implant in the Tests of Between - Subjects Effects then the tests of simple effects aren't necessary and I should test as appropriate depending on the significance of each of the independent variables separately? (what a mess of a question I'll leave it at that before I make it more complicated haha).
I entered **(M)**ANOVA as so because in my reading I found information referring to 2 way ANOVA's helpful so I guess the number of dependent variables isn't so important. My apologies if this whole post isn't so clear I'm happy to clarify anything further!
Kind regards,
C

https://developer.ibm.com/answers/questions/464975/two-way-anova-with-replication-test-significance-l.html
I've been trying to figure this out for hours, to no avail... For an assignment, I am to run a two-way anova test to see if there is a significant difference in number of events between arrays and years (events are the dependent variable, and arrays and years are fixed factors). There are three arrays, and the years go from 2009 to 2017. However, when I run the two-way anova, it gives me a period "." in place of the F and Sig values. I am at a loss as to what is going on. I have little experience with SPSS and statistics in general so everything I have found online about the problem thus far has not been any help. I'm attaching pictures of my data and my output. Any help on how to fix this would be very much appreciated! Thank you!

https://developer.ibm.com/answers/questions/462768/beta-coefficients-for-risk-factors-in-cox-regressi.html
I am very new to using SPSS program. I also have very little background in stats so ANY help would be greatly appreciated!
I would like to run the cox regression program on this dataset. I have an end event. I also have multiple risk factors. I would like to obtain the beta-coefficient for each of the risk factors. Specifically, two of the risk factors are systolic blood pressure and taking blood pressure medication or not. I want to be able to specifically obtain the beta-coefficient for systolic blood pressure with medication and systolic blood pressure without medication ALONG while taking the rest of the risk factors into account in SPSS. Is there a way to do this? Any help would be amazing!

Hi all,
I read in a paper (http://mentalmodels.princeton.edu/papers/2013reverse-engineering.pdf) that they used some kind of Friedman test to test interaction between two factors. Is there a Friedman test that can do that and how would one perform it in SPSS?interactiontwo-factorThu, 02 Aug 2018 13:00:47 GMTtiana33Two-Way ANOVA multiple comparison

Does anyone know if there is a syntax in SPSS available to give more information in a post-hoc multiple comparison when two fixed factors are being observed? I am looking for a similar output to that in Graphpad prism 'Compare cell means regardless of rows and columns' https://www.graphpad.com/guides/prism/7/statistics/index.htm?stat_multiple_comparisons_tab_2way.htm .anovatwo-factor2-wayWed, 30 May 2018 12:00:51 GMTNewtoStatsFactor analysis - result modification in SPSS
