The latest questions for the topic "linear"Linear Mixed-Effects Model error message
https://developer.ibm.com/answers/questions/505775/linear-mixed-effects-model-error-message.html
There are two fixed factors in my LMM: the between-subjects factor of Group and the within-subjects factor of Task. There is the single random factor of Participant nested within Group.
I am getting the **"levels of the repeated effect are not different for each observation within a repeated subject"** error message when trying to run my analysis. I put the Participant factor in the Subjects box and the Task factor in the Repeated box on the first prompt.
I have looked at lots of information on this, including this from IBM - https://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21479744 - but I have not been able to resolve the problem. The info I've found is geared towards situations when there are single measurements per repeated condition. The issue seems to be that I have **raw data** (RTs) and, thus, multiple measurements per repeated condition - each participant has about 50 trials per Task. Thus, a typical participant looks something like this:
Part. Group Task RT
1 1 1 .015
1 1 1 .024
1 1 1 .073
1 1 1 .009
and so on.
Any suggestions? Do I need to transform the data itself, insert some syntax, or what? How significant are the ramifications if I treat the repeated factor as a between-groups factor?linearmixedmodelsThu, 23 May 2019 15:04:50 GMTPaul SanfordLogistic regression assign gender to probability
https://developer.ibm.com/answers/questions/477654/logistic-regression-assign-gender-to-probability.html
Hello everybody, I have a set of data which I want to analyse with SPSS. Unfortunately, 16.35 % of the data does not have information for the gender. I have noticed following:
- Female: 25.77 %
- Male: 57.88 %
- No gender: 16.35 %
Proportion of males of data with available gender information: 69.19 %
When predicting gender with a binary regression and saving the values one obtains an average for predicted gender of 0.702596488.
But to use binary data, I want to only have 0 (female) or 1 (male) for gender in the dataset. To achieve this, I exported the data with predicted gender probabilities to Excel. You can find the excel worksheet here: https://1drv.ms/x/s!AtNwspiFU1pNhK9b3Vh8tHcDUA71SA
• When using the Round function in Excel I get a column with following average: 0.97375 (nearly only males, which are coded as 1)
• To get a higher (and more realistic) proportion of females, I have used following formula: =IF(AH2>0.7, 1, 0). This yields an average of 0.589.
Now, I am wondering whether there is a different way in Excel to only have binary data but with a similar distribution (70 % males – 30 % females) of the data with existing gender information while using the results from the regression.

https://developer.ibm.com/answers/questions/463254/missing-predictions-with-automatic-linear-modellin.html
I want to use a model derived from the ALM facility to predict new data. I do this by: (a) selecting a subset of the records to 'train' the model; (b) selecting all of the records; and (c) using the PREDICT function with the trained model.
Usually, I get predicted values for all of the records, and then pick out the ones I want by hand. However, I notice that there are often gaps in the predicted values for the 'test' data (i.e. not used for training). Instead of a value, I get an empty cell.
Looking at the data, I can see that this happens when my 'test subject' has extreme values in one or more of the predictors which the model employs. My questions are: (a) can anyone confirm what is happening here?; and (b) can anyone tell me how to force the model to make a prediction in this case?spssspssstudentlinearTue, 07 Aug 2018 14:13:52 GMTThomas HopeSum over decision variables, MIP with OPL

https://developer.ibm.com/answers/questions/405064/are-there-any-advantages-to-genlin-over-regression.html
I am trying to discern whether I have created the best model possible in light of an almost significant finding for our outcome of interest.
I ran a multiple linear regression in REGRESSION by going to Analyze then Regression then Linear. My model was run using the following syntax:
REGRESSION
/MISSING LISTWISE
/STATISTICS COEFF OUTS R ANOVA
/CRITERIA=PIN(.05) POUT(.10)
/NOORIGIN
/DEPENDENT Y
/METHOD ENTER X1 X2 X3 X4 X5 X6 X7
/SAVE COOK
I removed outliers that had a Cooks D of >0.03. There were 8 outliers out of a sample of 133.
Our main outcome of interest is p=0.056 when outliers are removed. It was significant before outliers were removed. It is statistically significant if instead of listwise deletion we use pairwise deletion. It is also statistically significant if we log transform the variable.
I am wondering if there is any merit to creating a model in GENLIN. Might there be additional options in GENLIN that might help us explore if a better model might be built than we could build using REGRESSION? I have tried the following syntax, but am running into a problem with COOKS Distance.
Previously, Cooks D was all under 1 in my REGRESSION model. Now, we see COOKS D above 30. It doesn't look like it is calculating the same value. Also, there is no value given for 15 cases for which there previously was a Cooks D. I'm not sure why SPSS is omitting these cases from Cooks D calculation.

Any information about why the values for COOKS distance are so high in GENLIN in comparison to REGRESSION would be helpful. I am interested in why the COOKS Distance value is missing in GENLIN for observations that do not have any missing data. Also, any insights about how GENLIN is different from REGRESSION would be helpful.regressionlinearThu, 05 Oct 2017 02:33:21 GMTKristen OHow can I compare intercepts of two regression lines?

https://developer.ibm.com/answers/questions/364287/sepcific-features-of-automatic-linear-modeling.html
So far, I used ' analysis -> linear.. ' tool when I need to construct my statistic model.
However, I've recently found out there was a 'automatic linear modelling' options just above the 'linear..' button, and I have some questions about its specific features.
1. It looks like they automatically trim outliers according to the Cook's Distance method, which is displayed in the 'Outlier' slide in the output image. Then, are they all considered as outliers and are not included in their final model?
2. It also seems that they offer Forward Stepwise, AIC, and best subsets method to select ideal set of variables. Are there any options for forward, backward, and stepwise method in 'Automatic Linear Model'?
3. Unlike 'Linear..' feature which I can see many decimals of coefficients when I double-click the output image, 'Automatic Linear Modeling' does not display more than 3rd decimals of model's coefficients even if I double - click their tables. How can I see more decimals with their output image?
4. Are their any options of displaying prediction interval of individual predicted values in 'Automatic Linear Model'?spssspssstudentlinearThu, 23 Mar 2017 07:29:52 GMTJHK_26SPSS Modeler Linear Regression Node's Clef codes...
