DFHAP0001 0C4 AKEA at offset 6C4 in CAKSINST in CICS TS 5.1

Question & Answer

Question

Why would I receive abend0C4 abendAKEA at offset X'6C4' in module CAKSINST in my CICS Transaction Server for z/OS (CICS TS) V5.1 region?

I receive the following message:
DFHAP0001 An abend (code 0C4/AKEA) has occurred at offset X'000006C4' in module CAKSINST

Answer

CA Technologies has provided a relief fix of PTF RO55317 that fixes an overlay in the CA Technologies module CAKSINST.

If you have a system dump of your CICS region, you can enter VERBX DFHPDxxx 'KE' (where xxx is your release level of CICS like 680 for CICS TS 5.1) to display the KErnel domain. Then search on the *Running task with the *YES exception. You can then go to the KERRD control block and find the PSW and registers. From there you can go to the PSW area and back up in the module until you see the eye catcher for the problem, and can see it is tied to the vendor.

See Locating the PSW for a program check in a CICS TS 4.2 or 5.1 system dump for more information on how to determine if this is your problem.

Contact CA Technologies if you need additional assistance.
