Switching z/OS FTP connection in CICS Explorer from passive to active mode

Question & Answer

Question

Can the z/OS FTP connection in CICS Explorer dynamically switch from passive to active mode? My site restricts the use of passive FTP connections.

Answer

The CICS Explorer z/OS FTP connection initiates a passive FTP connection by default. If your site has restricted passive mode ftp connections, the z/OS FTP connection does not dynamically swtich to active mode ftp, but the 'Host Connections' view in the Explorer allows you to edit an existing or add a new ftp connection where you can click the 'Active transfer mode' box under the 'Additional FTP Details' section. alt text
