How to enable HTTPS ONLY for TXSeries Administration Console?

Answer

TXSeries Administration Console supports HTTP and HTTPS requests by default. If user intend to use ONLY HTTPS, follow these steps:

1) Go to C:\opt\cics\wui\bin and execute lwistop.bat for stopping the LWI Server.

2) Go to C:\opt\cics\wui\conf directory and edit config.properties file. Comment "com.ibm.pvc.webcontainer.port=" line. This port is used for HTTP based communication. By default TXSeries uses 443 port for HTTPS for TXSeries Administration Console. if user intend to change this, update "com.ibm.pvc.webcontainer.port.secure=" in config.properties file.

3) Go to C:\opt\cics\wui\conf\overrides directory and edit config.properties file. Comment "com.ibm.pvc.webcontainer.port=" line. This port is used for HTTP based communication. By default TXSeries uses 443 port for HTTPS for TXSeries Administration Console. if user intend to change this, update "com.ibm.pvc.webcontainer.port.secure=" in config.properties file.

4) Go to C:\opt\cics\wui\bin directory and execute lwistart.bat for starting the LWI server.

5) Now connect to TXSeries Administration Console with HTTPS.
