Question & Answer
Question
It is inconvenient for me to have to locate (in an application program major node) the APPL or GROUP definition statement for a SNA application to determine whether that application is APPC-capable.
Answer
You can determine whether or not a given SNA application is APPC-capable simply by looking at a SNA display of the application. The value of the APPC parameter (YES|NO) specified or defaulted on the GROUP or APPL definition statement in an application program major node is indicated in the message group that appears whenever a DISPLAY NET, ID=name command for the SNA application is issued.
For example, when you issue this command, message IST1938I indicates that APPL1 is APPC-capable :
D NET,ID= APPL1
IST075I NAME = NETA.APPL1, TYPE = APPL
