Question

When I try to connect using the CMCIPORT, why is my CICS Explorer connection getting error message IZE0106E Connect failed with error "Unsupported CICS release" (hostname:cmciport)? The failure started occurring after I upgraded my CICSPlex SM Web User Interface (CPSM WUI) server to CICS Transaction Server for z/OS (CICS TS) V5.2.

Answer

CICS Explorer V5.2 is the minimum version of CICS Explorer which can be used to connect to a CICSPlex SM V5.2 WUI server using the CMCIPORT. You cannot connect with a CICS Explorer V5.1.
