S46D-18 when formatting CICS trace using SYSVIEW module GSVBTRCF

Why am I receiving S46D-18 abends when trying to format my CICS trace using CA Technologies SYSVIEW module GSVBTRCF? I have relinked the CICS supplied module DFHTRFFE into the GSVBTRCF module that I'm using to format the CICS trace table. When I did the relink, I linked the DFHTRFFE from the highest level of CICS on my system to avoid problems per the CA SYSVIEW documentation.

According to CA Technologies Support, the dump shows the S46D-18 abend is occurring in IBM module IEAVTESP as a result of the ESPIE SVC 6D being issued from IBM module DFHFTTRI.

Answer

The MVS system completion code of 46D with reason code 18 (S46D 18) is encountered when the user's session is running in supervisor state as a result of being in ZIIP mode. You should contact CA Technologies support for a fix. The test fix that CA provided is TSE0105 but an official fix should also be available some time in the future.
