How do I determine whether DLUS-DLUR pipes are active?

Question & Answer

Question

How do I determine whether DLUS-DLUR pipes are active?

Answer

At a VTAM network node, you can do either of the following to determine whether DLUS-DLUR pipes are active:

  • Enter the display command D NET,DLURS. This command's output will show the names of all DLURs supported by this DLUS (in other words, all DLURs with which this DLUS has DLUS-DLUR (CPSVRMGR) pipes), and the states of the two LU 6.2 sessions - contention winner (CONWINNER) and contention loser (CONLOSER) - making up the CPSVRMGR pipe.

  • Enter the display command D NET,STATS,TYPE=VTAM. The following message in the displayed output indicates how many active DLUS/DLUR pipes exist:

IST1227I 152 value = ACTIVE DEPENDENT LU REQUESTERS

where 152 is the storage estimates function ID number assigned by VTAM to the ACTIVE DEPENDENT LU REQUESTERS statistic

where value is the number of active dependent LU requesters (DLURs)

When you know the name of a DLUR with which the DLUS has an active DLUS-DLUR pipe, you can enter this command: D NET,E,ID=dlurname .

The output of this command will include the names of all PUs that are supported by the DLUR, as shown below:

IST1355I PHYSICAL UNITS SUPPORTED BY DLUR dlurname IST089I nodename TYPE = nodetype, status
