IST663I BIND FAIL REQUEST RECEIVED SENSE=080F6051 was received when attempting to start a session between two applications with APPC=YES coded on the VTAM APPL definition statement.

Answer

The session failed with sense code 080F6051 because the VERIFY parameter on the VTAM APPL definition statement was coded incorrectly. Cases where this can occur include the following:

  • VERIFY=REQUIRED was coded on one application and VERIFY=NONE was defaulted to on the other application.

  • VERIFY=OPTIONAL was coded for the APPL definition, a Security Profile requiring security was coded for it in RACF, and the partner has VERIFY=NONE.

To allow the session to come up successfully, change the VERIFY parameter values so that they are compatible with each other.
