I see Message IKT029I (return code 061001) received with a TSO logon failure in my logs. How do I resolve this?

Why am I getting error message IKT029I (return code 061001)?

For this type of error, either the application or D/T8100 expects the first BIND from TSO to be from terminal control address space (TCAS). TCAS will only send the BIND for the TSO subapplication program (TSOxxxx).

The common symptoms of this are that you cannot log on to TSO from a session manager application, and seeing: IKT029I RC= 061001 SENSE= code TERMINAL termid ABOUT TO BE RELEASED BY VTAM.

If the secondary logical unit (SLU) does not support this type of session initiation, specify FASTPASS=NO on the SLU definition statement to force TCAS to send a BIND to the SLU before the TSO subapplication program sends its own BIND.
