trial period ended and didn't got a virtual machine

Question by sombriks  (17) | Aug 31, 2015 at 08:46 PM trialibmcloudvirtual machinesmachine

it's a bit sad that i waited like forever and i simply didn't even had a chance to see what bluemix really are up to.

you see, got that mail saying that i need to provide my credit card, but not worries, i'll not be charged if i don't use it beyond certain limit.

but the credit card screen say things like "pay now"

either someone is lying or someone does not have a good customer relationship.

a entire month passed and i didn't had a chance to see anything running.

on the other hand, i tried two others players in this start-for-free game and, boy, it took MINUTES to got something running.

to be fair, very fair, i didn't asked for anything multipurpose like what i asked at bluemix.

But, man, you are IBM, you guys where supposed to eat the liver of those milk-powered hipsters in the breakfast.

Your solution should be slick, fluent, dead easy to start to use, well advertised, filled with nice how-to's, and - the most important part i suppose - made to inspire those computer guys and gals to start some kind of business using your almighty and shiny bluemix thing and when it starts to grow, only then, you start to demand your fair fee.

Maybe it's just not your business line, maybe i just was looking in the wrong castle. Nevermind.

Is there a way to get anything for free for a while and only if it works get back to the credit card thing?

Sombriks,

Thank you for sharing your concerns of your Bluemix experience. I've extended your trial program a bit longer so you can give Bluemix a test run. I will see if I can get you into the Beta program for VM's but no guarantees :)

The way our trial operates, is that you use any service. At the end of the 30 trial, if you like it, you can upgrade using your credit card. You can use all the services available in the catalog. As long as you use the 'free' portion of the plans (which you can see in the catalog) your credit card will not be charged.

Hello,

thanks for your time, i'll indeed try bluemix again. Great support!

And to be very fair, this time instead of request a full-featured vm i tried the create app option, and voilá, an up and running app in a few seconds and 2 clicks; and a git repo to develop in the git-is-the-deployer style with 1 more click.

Nice work, i'm recommending bluemix once more again.
