Question & Answer
Question
APAR PI39825 included a change to DFHWBPW1, which is a customizable user-replaceable template. But, the close for this APAR did not include any HOLD DOC tracking to indicate that if you have made a copy of the template that you should make the change supplied by the APAR to your customized DFHWBPW1. As a result, you will continue to get HTTP 500 ERROR instead of a meaningful text message after applying CICS Transaction Server for z/OS (CICS TS) 5.1 PTF UI30063 or CICS TS 5.2 PTF UI30064 for APAR PI39825. This post will answer the question: What should I do to eliminate the HTTP 500 ERROR if I am using a customized version of DFHWBPW1?
Answer
If you are using a customized version of DFHWBPW1, you should make the same changes supplied by APAR PI39825 to your copy of DFHWBPW1.
PI39825 only added the following two messages, 7 and 8:
DC C'<!--#set var="message.7" value=' @PI39825A
DC C'"The supplied password(s) are not the' @PI39825A
DC C' correct length.' @PI39825A
DC C' Please re-enter the passwords."' @PI39825A
DC C' -->' @PI39825A
DC C'<!--#set var="message.8" value=' @PI39825A
DC C'"The connection to the user''s default' @PI39825A
DC C' group has been revoked."' @PI39825A
DC C' -->' @PI39825A
The IBM source for program DFHWBPW1 can be found in the CICS sample library, SDFHSAMP. After you make the changes, you'll need to reassemble and link-edit it into one of your normal CICS program libraries that are concatenated into the DFHRPL data definition statement.
