Can the 3rd party vendor product called CMF be used by OMEGAMON, instead of RMF for gathering performance data?
Answer
The OMEGAMON XE on z/OS, CICS, and STORAGE products all use the RMF ERBSMFI API.
While OMEGAMON does not have specific support for CMF, the calls that OMEGAMON does to the RMF API (ERBSMFI) will work in a CMF environment if you make the proper adjustments.
The CMF CX10GVID module must be renamed or given the alias ERBSMFI. The CMF load library must then be concatenated in OMEGAMON's //STEPLIB DD or added to the system LNKLST.
Also, if Epilog is being used, the ALTDATA keyword should be specified in the RKANPARU(KEPOPTN) member.
