Question
When I try to bring my CICSPlex SM (CPSM) regions up, why are my regions receiving an AP0001 with abend S00C4 in transaction XLEV followed by DFHSR0606 with abend code 138 AKEB and finally terminating with abend U1800? This started occurring after I applied PTF UI30331 or UI30332 for APAR PI46611 to my CPSM systems.
The messages in the job log that I see are:

Answer
The reason you are getting this abend is because the ++HOLD ACTION was not performed for PTF UI30331. The HOLD ACTION requires you to terminate the CPSM ESSS started task, reload the updated service routines, refresh LLA and start things again. If that was not done, then the CICS region is running with one set of maintenance but the ESSS started task is running with older modules.
Follow the actions documented in the HOLDDATA for this PTF to resolve the abend 0C4 in XLEV and the abends that follow.
Note that UI30331 was for CPSM 5.1. If you are running CPSM 5.2, the PTF involved is UI30332. Both of these PTFs have the same HOLD ACTION.
