I have some long directory names that contain FTP datasets. The source dataset location is longer that 80 columns. When I split the dataset name to continue on the next line I get error message EZA1481I Cannot find closing quote in command string.
Answer
If the problem is that the combined length of the file name and path are too long, then use the CD command (server side) or LCD command (client side) to change FTP's sense of the current directory to be where the intended source/target resides. That way the GET or PUT command only needs to list the file name.
