Question & Answer
Question
After migrating to a new release of VTAM, we are now getting message IST264I REQUIRED COSNAME UNDEFINED when trying to start a cross-domain or cross-network session.
Why are we getting this message and how do we resolve the problem?
Answer
The reason you are seeing this message is that ISTSDCOS, the system default COS (class of service) table, was not included in the new VTAMLST.
To resolve this problem, copy ISTSDCOS from the old SYS1.VTAMLIB into the new VTAMLST. The table ISTSDCOS should be link-edited as a non-executable module into a library that is associated with the SYS1.VTAMLIB DD statement.
