DFHDS0001 0C4 AKEX at FFFF in DFHDSDS3 and CICS comes down

Question

What could cause my CICS region to crash with message DFHDS0001 An abend (code 0C4/AKEX) has occurred at offset x'FFFF' in module DFHDSDS3? We are running CICS Transaction Server for z/OS (CICS TS) V4.1 under z/OS V2.1. This happened during a normal day.

The dump shows that the Error happened in program DFHDSDS3 at offset 00000F8E.

SYSTRACE shows the abend0C4:

The PSW points to IDA019L1 + x'033232'. The csect of the module is pointing into IDA019RF at the UA77111 level.

Answer

The problem will be corrected by ICF Catalog APAR OA47443.

A reorg to remove the imbed (and replicate) will prevent the problem without installing the fix.
