Redirect /tmp kqicedar.kqimutx to another directory

Question & Answer

Question

Is there a way to redirect /tmp/a5591578-b482-11e0-a136-000000000000.kqicedar.kqimutx?

Answer

This file is for the shared memory between KQI agent and broker. Be careful if you remove it, it might cause the agent to crash. You can change a parameter in kqipnode.cfg to change the tmp folder for all mutex files and shared memory files which look like these:

-rw-rw---- 1 root mqbrkrs 0 Dec 11 06:08 9700ad00-43e6-11e4-87c9-0970fa720000.kqicedar.kqimutx -rw-rw---- 1 root mqbrkrs 0 Dec 11 06:08 9700ad00-43e6-11e4-87c9-0970fa720000.kqicetar.kqimutx -rw-rw---- 1 root mqbrkrs 0 Dec 11 06:08 9700ad00-43e6-11e4-87c9-0970fa720000.kqicshme -rw-rw---- 1 root mqbrkrs 0 Dec 11 06:08 9700ad00-43e6-11e4-87c9-0970fa720000.kqicshme.kqimutx -rw-rw---- 1 root mqbrkrs 0 Dec 11 06:08 9700ad00-43e6-11e4-87c9-0970fa720000.kqicstar.kqimutx -rw-rw---- 1 root mqbrkrs 0 Dec 11 06:08 kqi_attach_8850.kqimutx

Use following steps to change the tmp directory: 1. Stop all broker and KQI agent 2. Remove kqi under /tmp 3. Change KQITempDirectory in kqipnode.cfg, see the links below for detailed info.

Note: The user IDs used by the broker and the agent must both have write access to the new /tmp directory.
