We have 32-bit IHS servers running on 64-bit Linux platforms. We'd like to upgrade these to 64-bit servers to take full advantage of the hardware.
The bundle we installed IHS from was 64-bit but it installed a 32-bit version of IHS.
[root@..]# ./apachectl -V
Server version: IBM_HTTP_Server/7.0.0.0 (Unix)
Apache version: 2.2.8 (with additional fixes)
Server built: Aug 6 2008 17:10:22
Build level: IHS70/webIHS0831.03
Server's Module Magic Number: 20051115:11
Server loaded: APR 1.2.12, APR-Util 1.2.12
Compiled using: APR 1.2.12, APR-Util 1.2.12
Architecture: 32-bit
....
We used the following software bundle:
WAS7_ND_Linux_x86-64_multilingual_CZFA3ML.tar.gz
Looking for instructions on locating and installing the 64-bit version of IHS 7.

The following link provides details on IHS versioning and architecture:
http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/httpserv/ihsdiag/questions.html#3264
As noted, IHS v7 is only available as a 64bit runtime on HP-UX/ia64 and Solaris/x64. For all other platforms, the runtime is 32bit... even when installed from the 64bit install image. Also, as noted, "IHS 8.0 adds the ability to choose 64-bit binaries on Linux (all architectures), AIX, and Solaris/SPARC."
For a more detailed breakdown of IHS architecture and bitness, see:
