The following message is issued after a MODIFY TABLE command is entered::
IST863I MODIFY TABLE COMMAND FAILED - TABLE ISTSDCOS IS FORMAT=OLD
Answer
In message IST863I, FORMAT=OLD indicates that the table specified in the the message is not dynamically modifiable. As a result, the attempt to modify the table failed.
To correct the problem, code FORMAT=DYNAMIC on the USSTAB macroinstruction.
FORMAT=DYNAMIC specifies that the MODIFY TABLE command can be used to dynamically replace the USS table.
