What message indicates that sysplex distributor has switched to the HOTSTANDBY server?

Question & Answer

Question

Having enabled the sysplex distributor HOTSTANDBY function, we need to find messages in the system log that indicate that transactions are now being sent to the HOTSTANDBY server.

Answer

The message indicating that transactions are now being sent to the hot-standby server is EZD1970I:

EZD1970I HOT STANDBY SERVER FOR destipaddr PORT portnum AT tcpstackname ON mvsname IS ACTIVE

Note: Not all write to operator (WTO) messages go to the syslog. With NetView, it is possible to redirect a WTO message to the NetView log and not have the message appear in the syslog at all. In this situation, you should check the NetView log, rather than the syslog, for the EZD1970I message.
