Question & Answer
Question
Why is jobstep STEP045 failing in the SORT of the CIUINT6 VSAM collector data set with an abend S0C4 when I run the IBM CICS Interdependency Analyzer for z/OS (CICS IA) supplied CIUUPDB JCL from SCIUSAMP?
A SYSMDUMP shows the 0C4 in module VIOOPX31 (Copyright Emc Corp.) at offset x'6488'
These are the message I receive when the job fails:

Answer
You would need to contact the vendor that owns module VIOOPX31 to determine why the 0C4 occurs.
Other users suggested a workaround of specifying the following DD statement in the failing jobstep (STEP045) to bypass the VIO product from intercepting OPEN requests.
//VIOCTL DD DISP=SHR,DSN=SUPPRESS,AMP='AMORG',
// VOL=REF=SYS1.LINKLIB
