DFHAC2001 when trying to run transaction typed in lowercase and using CA View

Question & Answer

Question

Why am I suddenly receiving message DFHAC2001 Transaction 'tranid' is not recognized ... when trying to run a transaction typed in lowercase in CICS Transaction Sever for z/OS (CICS TS)? We have noticed the problem seems to appear when a terminal has been left idle after running the CA-View transaction.

This appears to be a lower-to-upper case translation problem. But, all of our devices are coded with the Typeterm attribute of UCTRAN(YES) so I would expect that the transactions should be translated to uppercase.

I have been resolving the problem by taking the device out of service and reinstalling the associated Terminal definition.

Answer

Apply CA View R12.2 APAR TR87601 (PTF RO87601). Contact CA Technologies if you need additional assistance.
