Does the TN3270 Express Logon Feature work with a cross domain application?

Question & Answer

Question

Users connect to the z/OS TN3270 server. If using the Express Logon Feature of z/OS Telnet is it possible to logon to an application that is owned by a cross domain VTAM. The destination application is across an EE link.

Answer

When the terminal connects to z/OS Telnet the Passticket is obtained and filled into the VTAM logon screen. VTAM receives this as a normal logon with Userid and Passticket for the password. As long as the application supports Passtickets and has an associated Passticket data profile defined in the RACF database where the application lives the logon will work.
