MQGET problems after applying PTFs UI33363 or UI33362

Question

Why would several of my CICS regions experience problems with CKTI (the CICS-WebSphere MQ trigger monitor or task initiator)? CKTI is running and sitting on MQGET but messages on the initiation queues are not being consumed. This problem started after after I applied maintenance from RSU1506 to RSU1512, including UI33363 or UI33362.

Answer

Applying fixing PTF UI36297 for WebSphere MQ V8.0 APAR PI58225 should fix your problem. This HIPER APAR describes that CICS Trigger Monitor stops getting messages. The problem starts after application of the fix for PI52987 (PTF UI33363).

PI58645 describes the same trigger problem for WebSphere MQ V7.1. In this case, the problem starts after application of the fix for PI46510 (PTF UI33362) and the fixing PTF is UI36299.
