CIU1000E CIUMSGE Language Module Not Found after installing CICS IA 5.3

Question & Answer

Question

When I run the IVP Transaction CIUT, why am I getting the error message CIU1000E CIUMSGE - Language Module Not Found? I just installed CICS Interdependency Analyzer for z/OS (CICS IA) V5.3 into a CICS Transaction Server for z/OS (CICS TS) V5.2 region.

Answer

Can you confirm the CIUJCINT job ran successfully to define the CICS IA RDO resources? This job should have pulled in the English language resource definitions (which include the program definition for CIUMSGE) from the SCIUSAME(CIUDEFTE) member.

If that job did define the CIUMSGE program to RDO, enter a CEMT INQ PROG(CIUMSGE) command in the region to make sure the definition can be found. Then check the DFHRPL concatenation to make sure the SCIULODE data set is in the RPL. This is where CIUMSGE is loaded.

These steps are described in the CICS IA documentation in topic Creating a new collection environment just before the IVP topic. Step 3 - Defining the IA resources to CICS describes the CIUJCINT job and Step 5 - Tailoring your CICS startup job describes adding SCIULODE.

If you find the RDO definition for CIUMSGE is in the region and SCIULODE is in the DFHRPL, open a IBM service request so CICS Support can help you determine why it cannot be loaded in the region.
