How can I run an online (fuzzy) image copy for HALDB database by HPIC?

Question & Answer

Question

How can I run an online (fuzzy) image copy for HALDB database by HPIC? Does HPIC have an equivalent process of IMS Online Database Image Copy utility (DFSUICP0)? Does HPIC support Online Image Copy process which BMC image Copy have?

Answer

The fuzzy image copy in IBM HPIC is Concurrent Image Copy and it covers HALDB, too. You can just use CIC or ACIC statement for HALDB. It does not need any special statements or keyword for using the Concurrent image Copy for HALDB.

HPIC doesn't have an equivalent process of IMS Online Database Image Copy utility (DFSUICP0). HPIC does not have it for any kinds of database. DFSUICP0 requires the PSB has definition for OIC indicator.

HPIC supports Online Image Copy process which BMC image Copy have. But HPIC and IMS call it the Concurrent Image Copy(CIC). BMC Online Image Copy process is equivalent to IMS/HPIC CIC.
