EDC5129I No such file or directory when running zosconnect create server

Question & Answer

Question

I installed the z/OS Connect Enterprise Edition Version 2 Open Beta on my z/OS V2.2 OS as part of a Proof-of-Concept. When I run the zosconnect script to create my server, why would I receive message "EDC5129I No such file or directory" for command cd: /usr/lpp/tpn/Zosconn_Beta_V2/wlp/etc/extensio*?

The following command:

zosconnect create <server name> --template=zosconnect:default

returns these errors:

 $ zosconnect create server1 --template=zosconnect:default
 CWWKE0005E: The runtime environment could not be launched.
 CWWKE0054E: Unable to open file /SV/usr/lpp/tpn/Zosconn_Beta_V2/wlp/etc/extensions/zosconnect.properties.
 $ cd
 /usr/lpp/tpn/Zosconn_Beta_V2/wlp/etc/extensio*

 cd: /usr/lpp/tpn/Zosconn_Beta_V2/wlp/etc/extensio*: EDC5129I No such file or directory.

It is looking for the directory extensions under wlp/etc/ but that Directory was not present in my installation.

Answer

Make sure the zconsetup install script ran successfully and that the file system is mounted on the LPAR.

See Setup the product feature directory in the z/OS Connect Enterprise Edition Version 2 Open Beta documentation for details on running the zconsetup install script.
