Question & Answer
Question
Why am I receiving the following DFHPA1909 message during CICS startup after an IPL?
DFHPA1909 DATA /usr/lpp/cicsts/cicsts41 IS INVALID FOR KEYWORD USSHOME=. RESPECIFY KEYWORD AND DATA
Answer
Ensure you have the correct HFS file mounted before the CICS region is started. When you re-IPL, it might not mount the UNIX directories if you don't have an auto-mount script or utility to mount the directories needed.
From the OMVS shell, you can enter command ls -l /usr/lpp/cicsts/cicsts41 to see what is mounted and MOUNT the HFS file if it isn't already mounted.
