What should I specify for the VTAM start option MAINTLVL?

Question & Answer

Question

I am not clear about what I should specify for VTAM's MAINTLVL start option.

Answer

The VTAM startup option MAINTLVL is provided by VTAM for the end user to record the installed VTAM maintenance level of the host. This value is used to assist with identifying the VTAM maintenance level when using the D NET, VTAMOPTS command. The user defines a meaningful value.

You can code up to eight characters to identify the maintenance level. Any characters except the equals sign (=), comma (,), and left and right parentheses are allowed.

If you do not specify a maintenance level identifier, blanks are displayed.
