Question
What is **DFHNC.DFHNC00**1 server in message AXMSC0032 Connection to server DFHNC.DFHNC001 failed because the server was not found? I am using CICS Configuration Manager for z/OS (CICS CM) V5.1 on z/OS V2.2. I am getting the above error message in my CICS CM server JESMSGLG when I do the following:
Selecting option 2 for"CICS Resources"
Choosing a CICSplex configuration
On panelid CCVPCM1C, selecting option 2 for"FF_BAS" for "Maintain Full Function BAS resource definitions"
Answer
The AXMSC0032 message is to be expected if you are not using a CICS Named Counter Server. The Named Counter Server is optional and the CICS CM server attempts to connect to it, but if the connect fails the CM server will generate a pseudo-counter. The message should not be affecting your ability to use option 6 on panelid CCVPBMN1 to maintain application profiles using full function BAS in the CICSplex.
If you did have a Named Counter Server active, you might need to configure security to allow the CM server to access it. This is described in the CICS CM documentation topic Modify security to accommodate the server (if necessary).
If security is active in the CM server region and you did have a Named Counter Server running, you might receive the following message if the CM server:
AXMSC0033 Connection to server DFHNC.DFHNC001 was rejected by the security system.
You can read about the security requirements for the Named Counter Server in the documentation for CICS TS V5.1 in topic Authorizing access to named counter pools and servers.
Product Synonym
