Question & Answer
Question
How do I determine the level of DFHSJSC that is currently running in my CICS Transaction Server (CICS TS) regions?
Answer
DFHSJSC is a CICS program which provides launch and control functions for the JVM Server. It is built into DFHSJSCL and shipped in SDFJAUTH. You can find which version of DFHSJSC is being used one of two ways:
In TSO, browse the DFHSJSCL member within the SDFJAUTH dataset and search on "CEESTART".
In a CICS dump, you can enter option 1 from the IPCS primary option menu to browse the storage and search on "DFHSJSC".
In each instance, you should find similar text to the following:
CEESTART....T0..................
................................
......................)........{
........................20160722
091118011300.>..................
.....b..d..H.-.<..DFHSJSC...UK69
311.z1r13...UK69311.z1r13...UK69
311.z1r13...UK69311.z1r13.......
This eyecatcher shows the date of DFHSJSC is July 22, 2016. You can compare this date to the date of the Apar/PTF to verify it was successfully applied.
