A new security certificate is installed. How can the new certificate be read by the Telnet server secure ports without restarting Telnet?
Answer
Perform the following steps in the indicated sequence:
Issue a VARY TCPIP,tn3270e_procname,TELNET,STOP,PORT=SECURE command to stop all secure ports. Any connections currently using the secure ports will be dropped.
Issue a VARY TCPIP,tn3270e_procname,OBEYFILE,DSN=file command where the file value contains the entire TN3270E server profile. The ports will be restarted and the new secure connections will begin using the new certificate.
