Question & Answer
Question
When issuing the TSO MAKESITE command to generate new hlq.HOSTS.SITEINFO and hlq.HOSTS.ADDRINFO data sets., the following errors occur:
EZA0578E Output data set file allocation ERROR: TCPIP.HOSTS.SITEINFO
EZA0580I Proceed Flag is ON -- Using default attributes.
EZA0578E Output data set file allocation ERROR: TCPIP.HOSTS.ADDRINFO
EZA0580I Proceed Flag is ON -- Using default attributes.
Even though the error messages appear, the HOSTS.SITEINFO and HOSTS.ADDRINFO data sets are created, using the default values.
Answer
The MAKESITE command was issued on an LPAR that is a member of a sysplex. The ADDRINFO and SITEINFO data sets were already created on the other LPARs.
Use the following GRS command to display the data set in use:
D GRS,RES=(*,TCPIP.HOSTS.*)
Stop the jobnames on the other LPARs in order to release the dataset. The MAKESITE command will now run successfully, without errors.
