Are there any good technical documentation on ICN's "Cache refresh interval" setting? This is the only one we are able to find in Knowledge Center: http://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSEUEX_2.0.3/com.ibm.installingeuc.doc/eucpt012.htm and it is high-level information.
We are trying to minimize the load-times for ICN for our users who have complained at times that it can sometimes take up to a 30 seconds to a minute before they see the login screen. We have already removed the CPE from the Production environment as we only need it during deployments. So we're down to 1 plug-in. But we've decided to keep the "Cache refresh interval" to the default 10 minutes until we know exactly the side-effects of bumping this up to a higher value.
Our specific questions are: 1. What configuration objects are kept in cache where "Cache refresh interval" is relevant? Desktops, menu items and plug-ins were mentioned on the KC link above. 2. What are the consequences of changing the "Cache refresh interval"? Bigger memory footprint? Manual restart of app if we need to update some look up values for an EDS?
I have more questions but these are the main ones. Thanks in advance for your help.

Thanks for the link. Would you happen to know if, by bumping up this setting to something like 120 minutes (2 hours), for example, we have to do a restart to refresh cached EDS dropdown values (in cases where we needed to add new values to our DB look up table)? I guess we can set this initially to a reasonable interval, at first, say 30 minutes and move up from there if needed.
