On the IBM Knowledge Center I am following the instructions: Creating the scan task in the Datacap Web Client
Step 9. states: Add another Datacap Desktop panel set of key and value fields. Enter the application name, such as TravelDocs, in the key field and in the value field, enter either DotScanPanels.ISISScan for ISIS scanners or DotScanPanels.TWAINScan for TWAIN scanners. Click Save.
I entered my application name IChiefAP Fisher in the key field and I entered DotScanPanels.ISISScan for the value field.
I also created the shortcut Scan which calls MyISISScan. When I log in to DC Desktop and click Scan, I am getting two error windows:
1. This batch has no data to process. Aborting.
2. Unable to run queue.

I was able to reproduce your error locally with a new app; I got it working by specifying a mapping of Default = DotScanPanels.TWAINScan:B. Note that :B is required for Default.
Maybe DotScanPanels.### is meant for custom panels, hence the confusion. Still, a PMR should be created to get to the bottom of this, be it documentation wise or product changes.

I have the solution to this you may be facing error "This batch has no data to process. Aborting. " in datacap desktop.
Go to your workflow and check Top node of workflow in my case it was "TEST" and my application name was "Test" .
If I give it "Test" it is giving same error , but if I give "TEST" that is my workflow name it works fine. (in the setup)

I don't understand what the name has to do with it but I modified my name to all upper case and now I'm getting this error:
Unable to read file read from unlocked file fails -
C:\Datacap\APT\dco_APT\APT,xml - invalid file name!

Moiz, I attached my configuration screens. Let me know if you need to see anything else.

Name has nothing to do with it, neither did I said to change it to all caps,
I just suggested in case your top node (worflow) name was different name then that of application like mine than we need to give the topnode name instead of application.
here topnode also means the name which should be after dco_ in the dco_FolderName folder in the application folder.

I put the name back and I'm back to the same error. Just to clarify I attached my Workflow config screens.

Moiz, I think the Datacap Desktop Bind DCO type to panel parameter might be wrong, but I don't know what to set it to...

I was able to reproduce your error, and I understand that you have created your application by copying the "APT" application.
I did same thing with traveldocs and when i give "Copy_Traveldocs" it won't work but givin "Traveldocs" makes it work.
So a temporary solution untill you get it solved by PMR is
use APT in the left box in the Bind DCO setup and DotScanPanels.ISISScan in right box.
same case with TWAINScan,ISISScan
PS: I don't face this problem in new applications but only in COPIED APPLICATIONS. Because I have recently used scanner in my new applications without any issue , first time I copied just to test your case.
may be it is due to some DCO XML reference .

Moiz and Friendy, I too was able to finally get the scanner to scan! I had to configure the Task --> Setup --> Datacap Desktop --> Bind DCO type to panel as Default and DotScanPanels.TWAINScan:B
I also opened a PMR on this as suggested. The documentation is definitely ambiguous when it comes to DC Desktop configuration with OOTB applications. thanks to you both. I will post the results of the PMR to this thread as well. Hopefully I can help someone else in the future.
