Are there any compatibility problems when running CICS Interdependency Analyzer for z/OS (CICS IA) Version 5 Release 1 (V5.1) with CICS Transaction Server for z/OS Version 5 Release 3 (V5.3)? I would like to know if there any specific migration tasks that need to be performed.
Answer
The Software Product Compatibility Reports - Detailed System Requirements for CICS IA V5.1 indicate CICS IA V5.1 is compatible with CICS TS V5.1 and all future CICS TS versions.
You can view this report by going to Detailed system requirements for a specific product and in the "Full or partial product name" search box, enter search string "CICS Interdependency Analyzer". When the search results are returned, select "5.1" from the "Version" drop-down box and click Submit.
There are no known APARs required for concurrency between CICS IA V5.1 and CICS TS V5.3, nor any known migration problems.
CICS IA V5.1 does not support collection for new commands added in CICS IA V5.3 in support of CICS TS V5.2 or CICS TS V5.3. You should review the CICS IA V5.3 documentation topics What's new in CICS IA Version 5.3 and Summary of changes from earlier versions for updates added in support of CICS TS V5.2 and CICS TS V5.3 that will not be available in CICS IA V5.1.
