DFHMN0001 0C4 AKEA at offset 4836 in DFHMNXM when using CA Sysview

Question & Answer

Question

Why would a task in CICS fail with message DFHMN0001 abend (code 0C4/AKEA) has occurred at offset X'4836' in module DFHMNXM? I am running with CA Sysview, and when I disable this product, I no longer see the error. The program check is due to register 5 containing an incorrect address. It should point to the Transaction Resource Monitor Area (TRMA). The address was loaded from the Transaction Monitoring Area (TMA) + 30, field tma_trma_ptr which contains an incorrect address.

Other symptoms that you might see are:

DFHSM0002 A severe error (code X'0305') has occurred in module DFHSMGF.
In this case the TMA+30 contained an incorrect address, but it was addressable so it did not cause a program check when referencing it. But, when CICS attempted to freemain the address back to the MN_TRMAS subpool, it failed since the address does not belong to that subpool.

DFHTS0001 An abend (code 0C4/AKEA) has occurred at offset X'03F2' in module DFHTSSH
This is due to referencing th TRMA pointer that contains an invalid address.
