Question
I was running a z/OS Connect V2 Enterprise Edition V2.0.7 with CICS Transaction Server for z/OS (CICS TS) V5.2 over WebSphere Optimized Local Adapters (WOLA) in our test LPAR. As part of promoting this to production, I moved the file system directories over to the production LPAR, but now find that when I invoke an API the BBOOUT transient data queue in CICS issues message:
BBOC Wed Mar 1 01:59:06 2017 0046925 The registration with the Liberty profile server was not successful. The return code is 12, and the reason code 88.
I have confirmed all the code library and file system directories are correct.
Answer
A compressed .zip dump of the zCEE Liberty server was provided and the messages.log did not contain the WOLA messages:
CWWKB0501I: The WebSphere Optimized Local Adapter channel registered with the Liberty profile server using the following name: GROUP NAME2 NAME3 J2CA7001I: Resource adapter ola installed in n.nnn seconds.
The introspection dump folder file BundleStateIntrospection.txt shows the majority of the required bundles in "Installed" state instead of "Active" state and this is why the WOLA connection will not complete.
The zCEE server was started with the "--clean" option which should have deleted the workarea folder files that cache the OSGi bundles however that folder remained.
Renaming the workarea folder and restarting resulted in a new workarea folder being created and the necessary OSGI bundles activating and the CWWKB0501I and J2CA7001I messages being issued.
