On Bluemix - I have a Node-RED Flow trying to use Document Conversion. Despite the app being bound to the doc conversion service - it does not appear in the node as a selectable service. If i try manually to insert credentials that doesnt work either. I can access the same service programmatically using Java outside of Bluemix so its an issue with the Node-RED Node. I've tried unbinding and rebinding and restarting. I have a support ticket open on Bluemix but they cannot figure out why its not working either.
There is a known problem with this node. The node looks for a service with 'document_conversion' in its name. Normally this is enough, but if you embed 'document_conversion' in your application name, then the automatically created cloudant service will also have this in its name.
The node then finds the first and wrong service and uses the wrong credentials.
I will be applying a fix to the node so that it looks at the URL instead of the name. I hope to get this fix released this weekend.
I will comment on this question when a fix is available. In the meantime don't use 'document_conversion' in your application name.
Although after a careful re-reading through of your post, this might not be related to what you are seeing.
chughts - Below is a screen shot of what MerlinUK is seeing. The Doc Conversion node appears fine on the palette however his Doc Conversion service is missing from the pull down Service list. Should see Document Conversion-4s....
Is this what you're after ?
