I'd like to connect a Conversation Service with a Discovery Service. Just like in this tutorial I found: https://github.com/watson-developer-cloud/conversation-with-discovery
Now I wonder if this is the only way to make both Services work together. Feels a little overdone to set up a the Liberty Server (compared to the convenient and easy way to setup a Conversation Service for example). So, are there any alternative ways? Or can somebody please explain why it has to be done that way? Would be great to get more information about this to understand why and how it works.
The example is just that an example (in this case a Java based one) that show how the two services can be used together. The sample app has been put together as it is a common usage pattern, to use Conversation for information gathering and guidance and Discovery for document search, when the consumer request has been fully understood.
As the underlying services being consumed are REST APIs, you are not restricted to Java, you an use any framework and any coding model that allows you to consume REST services.
Thank you for your answer. Do you know where to find another tutorial or a documentation? Unfortunately I couldn't find any other good resource.
Feels like the only thing I've learned from the tutorial I mentioned above is how to set up a Websphere Server. But not how to make both services interact.
