Question & Answer
Question
After initial configuration, the WebSphere optimized local adapter (WOLA) name registers successfully and the instance works as expected. But, if the system is IPL'd while the z/OS Connect instance is running, then I get a CWWKB0503E message on subsequent attempts to start the instance. The only way we have to get around the problem is to configure a new three-part name.
This is the message I receive:
CWWKB0503E: The WebSphere(R) optimized local adapter channel that uses the name of group1 name2 name3 was unavailable for use with the Liberty server. Ensure no other Liberty servers are using the same zosLocalAdapters configuration
We are using z/OS Connect Enterprise Edition V2.0.7 on z/OS V2.2.
I am attaching the stderr file from the task and the instance messages.log.
Do you have any ideas why I would get message CWWKB0503E?
Answer
In this case, an old task that was starting at IPL was stealing the 3 part name. After stopping the task, the CWWKB0503E message was no longer received.
