Question
After upgrading my CICS Explorer to V5.3.0.11, why is my CICS management client interface (CMCI) connection to my CICS region failing with message:
IZE0106E Connect failed with error "Bad Gateway"
The exception trace shows an http 502 Bad Gateway.
It does not even appear to attempt to connect to the CICS region port. Testing with a web browser using:
http://hostname:port/CICSSystemManagement/CICSTask/
...connects perfectly.
Answer
The client determined that their local proxy server was blocking the connection. After disabling the proxy server configuration, the CICS Explorer CMCI connection to the mainframe was successful and message IZE0106E with "Bad Gateway" was no longer seen.
