Question
What is the appropriate response to message EZZ3320I variable variable is not found in any local MIB ?
Answer
Message EZZ3320I indicates that the MIB variable specified in the osnmp command was not found in either the MIB compiled into the osnmp command or in the MIBS.DATA file.
This message is generated directly from the osnmp USS command. When you issue any command using a name instead of an OID (number), osnmp will first attempt to translate that name to the corresponding OID. All of the MIBs supported by the SNMP agent; and the TCPIP, OMPROUTE, SLAPM2, and TN3270 subagents; are hard coded into the osnmp command. However, the MIB supported by IOBSNMP is not, and we have to map the name to an OID number for osnmp to make the connection between the two. We do this in the mibs.data file.
If the MIB variable specified is incorrect, correct it and reissue the command.
Another possibility is that the osnmp command is picking up the wrong mibs.data file.
Still another is that there's a minor syntactical error in the file that's rendering the line in question unusable.
