How should I respond to error message EZD2028I with reason "PNETID IS NOT CONFIGURED" ?

Question & Answer

Question

We received the error message EZD2028I with reason PNETID IS NOT CONFIGURED during 10 GbE RoCE Express interface activation, as shown below:

EZD2028I INTERFACE resource_name ACTIVATION FAILED - PNETID IS NOT CONFIGURED

How should we respond to this message?

Answer

This message indicates that an IBM 10GbE RoCE Express feature configured on the GLOBALCONFIG statement does not have a physical network ID (PNetID).

You should either configure a physical network ID (PNetID) value on the correct 10 GbE RoCE Express port in the HCD definitions or remove the PCI-function ID (PFID) definition representing the 10GbE RoCE Express feature from the SMCR parameter of the GLOBALCONFIG statement.
