Question & Answer

Question

In z/OS TCP/IP, how can I determine whether Dynamic Right Sizing (DRS) is in effect for a connection's TCP receive window?

Answer

To determine whether Dynamic Right Sizing (DRS) is active for a connection's TCP receive window, examine the TcpPrf field value for the connection on the Netstat ALL/-A report output.

If the 1-byte hexadecimal TCP performance flag displayed in the TcpPrf field has the value

80 1... ....

that value indicates that this connection is eligible for dynamic right sizing (DRS) optimization support.
