Question

After installing system wide maintenance and an IPL, why is my DFHJUP job that has been running for years now failing with message:

IEC036I 002-18,IGC0005E,IGGXDJ4,COPYJ04,SYSUT4,
SYSTEM COMPLETION CODE=002 REASON CODE=00000018

I am running CICS Transaction Server for z/OS (CICS TS) V5.1 but in the process of upgrading to CICS TS V5.4.

Answer

Apply PTF UI48835 for CICS TS V5.4 APAR PI83451 to resolve the problem.

Although you are running an earlier version (CICS TS 5.1) of DFHJUP, CICS will pick up the latest level of DFHLGCNV. In this case, CICS TS V5.4 modules were in the LINKLIST concatenation so the problem that is occurring is described by APAR PI83451.

DFP is doing a QSAM PUT to place the record in SYSUT4. The RDW of the second record passed to PUT had a length of zero resulting in an IEC036I ABEND002-18.
