I am using the CICS Performance Analyzer for z/OS (CICS PA) V5.3 Explorer plug-in. Can you help me understand why the following is written to the error log when I try to view a CSV file in Explorer?

 java.text.ParseException: Unparseable date: "2017-08-30-23.59.00"

The CSV dataset was created by the CICS PA extract job from a Historical Database (HDB). The data was SMF110 type 2 statistics for CICS Transaction Server for z/OS (CICS TS).

Answer

The Obtaining CSV Data topic in the CICS PA V5.3 documentation only refers to loading CICS CMF performance class records using the EXPLOREx form. It does not discuss any support for CICS statistics data.

You can view the SMF 110 Type 2 CICS statistics records in the PA plugin from a DB2 data base if you extract the statistics records to DB2. See topic Exporting Statistics HDB data to DB2 in the CICS PA V5.3 documentation.
